Most of you may know, that as things fell apart worldwide this year back in March, my family lost my Nana, and she ended her long fight with Muscular Dystrophy FSHD Myasthenia Gravis.
Just typing this up has me in tears, because we were all so happy for her that she was no longer in pain, no longer in a body that was holding her back, she was, as my favorite show so beautifully put “at peace now.”
We were lucky enough to have some last moments with her, and talk to her about all the important things. She was always so thankful and proud that I was raising money for the MDA, and one of the things I promised her was that I’d never give up fighting for her. For my brother. And though she didn’t know at the time, for my uncle, and also for my mother, who was diagnosed just this past year.
Please consider donating in any way that you can, so that we can make a difference in so many families’ lives, with medical developments, research, treatments, assistance, and most importantly, hope. Thank you so much in advance.
As a member of MDA Team Momentum, I’m dedicating my miles of my half marathon to helping kids and adults living with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases live longer and grow stronger.
Every step I take while training for and racing in the half marathon will help MDA fund groundbreaking research to accelerate treatments and cures and provide care and support for families who are counting on us.
This is where you come in. Your donation will help save and improve the lives of individuals with muscular dystrophy and the families who love them.
Thanks in part to MDA Team Momentum participants and donors, MDA anticipates more new treatments in development during the next five years than in the previous five decades combined. Let’s keep and build this momentum.
