Steve Furnary Love RunDonate To This Campaign
Once again, over the next four weeks this summer, I will be doing my 40th annual fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. This is a major milestone in my life where I have crossed the 40-year threshold of supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association as well as retiring from Clarion Partners after 40 years of service. Many of you receiving this letter have actually donated to this fundraiser since the beginning, also marking this important date for you. My sincere gratitude for the support.
Last year’s fundraiser resulted in a total contribution to MDA of $176,750. As always, I am most thankful for the generosity and support that comes from this request. As in prior years, my fundraiser is simple. I will walk twenty miles over the course of a month and ask you to make a single charitable contribution to MDA for this effort.
As I say each year, the research efforts continue for a cure or, at least an improvement in life for muscle disease patients. This is complicated and, as of now, much work continues particularly in gene therapy where research is underway for many genetic diseases. The collaboration across diseases should benefit all.
With my retirement from Clarion, I have expanded my involvement with MDA by now serving on a Board Committee where post-COVID methods of operations at MDA are being scrutinized and adapted. Covid did take a toll on this organization (as it did with many non-profits) but it is now moving forward again with higher efficiency and productivity.
I hope you will donate this year. The process of giving is easy since there are no dinners, no time commitments and 100% of your contribution goes directly to MDA. Many have now donated for all 40 years, which is amazing. I would very much appreciate your participation and it’s very easy - just click on the Donate button above.
Or alternatively, you may follow a long-standing tradition and make your check payable to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and forward it to Carol Chang who continues to work with me (in her retirement!). Her contact information is:
